On March 22, the inauguration of the first phase of the General Txizainga Centrality took place in Saurimo, together with the consignment for the start of the second phase of the work.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, who represented the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, and the Governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Félix Neto.
The first phase of the Centralidade included the construction of 212 apartments, commercial stores, a Drinking Water Treatment Plant, a Waste Water Treatment Plant, a Power Station and various social facilities.
With regard to the consignment of the second phase, this milestone was also accompanied by the Minister for Public Works, who formalized the start of construction.
The second phase of the General Txizainga Centrality will be developed over an area of 80.8 hectares and will include the construction of 1,400 homes, with capacity for approximately 8,400 inhabitants. The project includes 32 detached houses, 144 semi-detached houses and 45 4-storey townhouses, as well as important external infrastructures such as the drainage network, the electricity network, vertical and horizontal signage, the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP).
The new phase will also include the construction of various social facilities, including two nurseries, an elementary school, two secondary schools, a health center, a police station and an administrative building, among others.
This expansion of the General Txizainga Centrality represents an important step for the urban development of Saurimo, bringing significant improvements to the infrastructure and the quality of life of its inhabitants.
